The shoot was a great time! Nice to see the people turn out, looks like everyone enjoyed themselves! Thanks goes out to Joe and his wife Sue for hosting this get together again! Also, for the great food that was prepared for it. The weather was great and the shooting was fun!

Can't wait for next year! I will post some pics later when I load them up to photobucket.

Chris

Did anyone get a picture of the "Joe only" target? You would need a Muzzy broadhead for that one!

My special thanks to:

Joe & Sue for being such gracious hosts.

Chris, for the Big Top & Allen wrenches! (I will get them back to you)

Chris & Shawn for help with the targets & for the double bow case

Steve, Even though you couldn’t make it, your contribution was well received & greatly appreciated. Yumm!

To all the shooters who came from local & long distance, it was a pleasure to meet you all & hope to be able to do it again.

To all I may have forgotten, Thanks again!

I hope everyone had a good time. I enjoyed being with a bunch of people that think the same way as I do. I just love to shoot the bow for fun with other folks that do too. I can't wait to hunt some bears this fall. Chris, I will see you then. Make sure you pick out which Oneida you want to get a bear with. Chris

Man, awesome photos, this fall and winter, we have 5 outdoor 3-D shoots coming up in our lower mainland area. We are fortunate not to get snow out here,(except in the mountains) so outdoor shooting year round is the norm.

I'll be shooting on Oct 19 at our Burnaby 3-D field shoot with both my Martin Bengal and sights and ChekMate Recurve No sights.

But in November we have two 3-D shoots with my Aeroforce, and ChekMate Recurve, though haven't decided if I am going to go sights or not with my Aeroforce.

Jan 2009, Washington state has 2 3-D shoots, and in Feb 2009
we have our Big time media coverage Provincial Money 3-D shoot in Abbotsford.

Next Weekend, I am going to have Julia take photos of one of our field 3-D tourney. Hopefully I can figure a way to post em on here Joe.

In November, like most tourneys I most likely will be the only one shooting an Oneida, I don't think I have ever seen anyone else shoot em out here, maybe it is an east coast thing.

Pretty much everyone out West here shoot Hoyts period. Maybe it is because Aeroforce scare em, or maybe it is because their Man Boobs get in the way with such a Manly bow like mine. I don't know, who can say? I'm not a doctor or a Free Range Tofu eater. Anyways it should be a fun shoot.

One final note is that when I bring my Aeroforce into a tournament, a lot of 3-D shooters will stop and stare at my bow on the stand, and get all "Chicken Chested" pick up my Bow and ask if it is a New Type of "Super Death Bow?" I tell em it is 16 years old, they can't believe it. Most of these guys are like under 30.

Sometimes they ask to try it, I let em, they love it, but prefer speed over accuracy. Some complain over the heavy weight when I load it up, so I tell em, Ya gotta get them "Girly Arms" of yours into shape, ya can't be a "Nancy Boy" all your life!

But I tell you Joe, many an old timer over 40, smile, sigh and reminisce about the days they had one, and they loved em. One old timer, Ron Boorman, owner of Boormans Archery,is a Hoyt Pro Staffer, still regales me with tales when he was a younger man and used his Aeroforce in the 1980s when he would shoot and take home money with it in Vegas.

Ron now is in his mid to late 70s, and is relegated to shooting a light 40 pound draw Hoyt, but when I brought my Aeroforce into his shop to get it fitted for sights and a stabiliser and a D Loop, he started to tell everyone who will listen in his crowded shop, the first time he saw a Oneida in Vegas, they had it in a plexiglass case and a bow machine was dry firing it and the dry firing counter was at 1800 or so times, and the bow still would not break. That sold him, and he soon bought one after that, and traded it in on a Hoyt in the mid nineties.

When I go shoot it at Tourneys, Ron and a few old timers again will remind me the good times back in the day when they had one.

Guess Ron, loves those better days, days I hope to enjoy when I hit my 70s in 30 years as well.

Yep, Good Times.

What I do promise you, is the Maple Ridge Shoot in November, I will get Julia to photograph visitors and shooters alike looking at my Aeroforce, and many with admiring glances.
