Talked to Joe and he said not an issue to post these. Projects are flying along and once again it is for a one shot only. Bow is 280 FPS at 28 inch draw at 60# 80% letoff.

Thank you for the kind words, the change was very easy to do. Getting it right has been hard since it has been a busy year. As I told Joe I lost a cable to an edge that was sharp and I could not see the contact point when the weight was not on the cable.

Truth be told they are a nice thing to do and have but I think the warranty on the new bows makes it better to just keep your bow stock as they are great out of the box.

I always try to learn as much as I can from doing these and as most know I do have a custom bow I build with another company. That said it is hard not to come back to these bows and I do not believe a time will come when I do not own an Oneida.

Now if Joe will just send me the switchblade for a couple of weeks all would be good in the world. It is a great NEW bow by Oneida and Mr. Litten and I would love just to shoot one. Maybe when I go to the shoot at Joe's I will be able to get my hands on one.

Is there a reason one cable is FF, but you left the other steel?

At this point the yoke cable was not a driving issue in the system. The other issue was to fit it on the cam with the design as it is. The cable dampening on the power cable was fixed with the bands that Oneida uses. My experience with the ff system does not need them. The thing to still be realized here is longevity. Can the FF system out live the steel cable.

Not many people I have ever known has lost a yoke cable. I could put it on and in other systems I have cabled I have done them.

I have one other cable I am testing on another bow, only one left to ff. 8)

Thanks for the reasoning behind that, I am learning these somewhat, but still have a ways to go.

If I can help just ask, I am more than willing to explain how and why. There is no rocket science here and not Top secret, Protected ideas.

Very simple.............and easy to explain. :)

Yoke cables are the plastic coated ones on the front of the cam. Those are the quiet ones and no reason to replace them. You could and I have on the stealth and it did not really make a difference.

The power cables on the back (not coated in plastic) are the area where I am trying this for the sake of information.

I will be doing so checking on the efficency difference between steel and ff. Right now I am getting 94% of generated weight on the shot cycle from the draw cycle. That gives me 51# on the draw cycle and 49 on the shot cycle. Bow is getting 85% letoff at 28 inch draw.

I worked on the modules for that draw length to get better roll over of the cams.

Nice part about the ff cables I can build to custom lengths to achieve better fit for draw and letoff. You can do the same with steel cables by calling Matt or Joe and they will know what I mean.

Just to update, with over 1000 shots through the bow serving becomes an issue because of the shallow cut in the cams for the cable to track. It can be fixed by reserving the cable with a different material. I will continue to test an update results on that change. Bow is still timed perfect and shooting well with no wear at the hinge point.

I read somewhere from a less than Knowledgable person who said CPO hinges were weak  . I beg to differ, I order only CPO hinges now as the quality is second to none and I could not see anyone else doing it as well.

Well, I guess the testing is done and here is my view on the system.

To be clear this FF system has been done by others as well as by me. I have done this system on Stealths, oneida af's and BE systems.

The Bow has held up well over the tests and I am going to recable and ship the bow to it's owner.

Does this Work? Yes it does but I will say it does have problems due to cams machined for steel cables. So serves become an issue and a different method of serving was needed to control the problem. That said I will say it does gain a bit of speed but not enough to say it out performs Steel Rope (Galvanized or Stainless). I will say the draw is smoother in a different way........meaning because the FF is more flexible there seems to be less resistance than the wire rope.

Life is just as good if not better, but I stress the issue becomes shear point as I noticed no strans breaking over 2000+ shots so the issue becomes warning before failure. The issue becomes evident in the difference between 7X19 cables and 19X7. 7X19 gives you less warning of failure than 19X7 that will break stands but still hold so you know to change. So you have to weigh the benifits over the possible unseen failure. We all know that in a catistrophic failure the timing system will toast also in most cases.

The mods are not hard to do and if done right give you the option of FF or Wire Rope. I always believed that it is better to option for the ability to change back if you are not happy with the system.

It is a nice option to have isf you got some spare cash to put into the system. Teamed with the FF Timing cable it ups the bar a lot more. Even the full Wire Rope system will benefit from the FF timing system in my view.
