I have used whitetail decoys in the past and will be using them again starting this week here in maine. I have had does come in and check them out several times but not bucks. I have used a doe decoy and will be using a buck decoy this week coming up.
Anyone else try using a decoy??

Yea, I have used them, as soon as the deer see them they high tail it into the next county!

Only once did I have good luck & that was with a featherflex beeded decoy, buck came in & circled the decoy. Took one thru the boiler room & dropped 20 yards away.

I think it's cool the does came to investagate your decoys. I use them myself and with my experience I have noticed that the does tend to spook when they see a decoy in cover. Tends to catch them off guard. But then i've noticed when I place them in an open area the does seem to not mind so well as they can watch from a distance. I'd say deer are probably pretty social.
With any decoy hunting I always make sure it's the right time of the year to use them. Don't won't to tip off my deer of my presence early season. Always put my buck faceing toward me so that the buck will approachs from the front of my decoy so it presents a quarting away shot.
I don't know anything but just my opinion with my experience using them.
