Did anyone watch the Discovery Channel last nights show about how wolfs became dogs(some of them). It was probably what we already knew but was very entertaining.

We have heard of something similar to that up here in Maine also. We have some very big coyotes and think they have interbred here. I believe the term if I am spelling it correct is Coydog.

you are right, a Coydog is the offspring of male coyote and a female dog,a dogote is male dog and a female coyote. The problem with either is they have the cunning of a coyote and the don't have a coyotes fear of humans

This show(if it airs again you should see) was more about 20,000 years ago and how wolfs came into the Caveman's camps and dumps to get scraps food/bones. It gos on to stipulate how the bond between man and dog(wolf) began.. It indicates that there were those animals that roamed the forest and hunt in packs and there were those that fed of of camp scraps and lived in the camps with the wandering caveman. It was the later that "turned" into the "Dog". I believe, that the wolf and the dog were spin offs of another wolf/dog like animal. Being a dog person, I love this stuff.

Yes all of us that are dog lovers enjoy these types of stories. I would like to see more of these stories on tv and not all the violence that is there. TV was to help teach people at the first and now all it does is teach people how to hurt other people in more ways than you can count. I myself don't watch much TV as I'm not pleased with what is on it. If you do not watch it then it does not get the ratings and it will not be on anymore. Just my thoughts .
