If given the option of a cable that

lasts about 1000 more shots

a couple strands breaking warning user indicating cable change needed before breaking.

Which would you prefer??

Having the option of knowing something might be on it's way out by giving me some indication that there is a problem.

OR

Having a catastrophic failure without warning.

I like to give my equipment a once over for problems whether it is a gun & ammo/bow & arrow/boat & motor or any mechanical device I own

All the above have consumables that should be inspected & replaced on a regular basis whether or not it appears there is a problem. It's called preventative maintenance & most people including myself are guilty of negligence in this regard.

Those things such as frayed strings & broken strands are things called Clues!

Pay attention to the clues with your bow, as you would pay attention to the knocking from under the hood of your car & the grinding of your brakes.

With the proper maintenance at regular intervals, you may never see the symptoms of a problem because there won't be any!

As Always, YMMV

I definitely would prefer the warning. I think it would prevent failures. Who ever thought of that is a freaking genius.

I voted for the warning, in my view its a no brainer based on the damage that can occur to the whole system if unknown failure occurs.

A 1000 more shots from what though? I get new cables and a string every couple of years on my oneida af and haven't had an issue yet. So I guess if anything I'd reather have a warning lite than a total failure.
