Are you a finger or release shooter or both.

For years I`ve used a wrist strap and index finger release. I`ve just got done ordering a new thumb release made by Tru-Fire. I`ve always wanted to try one. I can`t wait to try it out!

I have shot both for the past 10 years. Now that I might be getting a oneida again I will be going back to fingers.

Release, Shot fingers almost 20 years, Became more consistant w/less practice time with the release.
Maybe I should have stayed with fingers, it make me get out & shoot more before the hunting season began.

I replied release but after doing so read the other posts and need to note that the exception is that I do shoot fingers for bowfishing but that's with a much lower poundage bow.

Release shooter here also. They had a shoot at the sportsmans barr in gardiner a couple weeks ago where everyone had to shoot a genesis bow using fingers and it was fun to watch for sure. I tried shooting one fingers the day before and its not easy. Thumbs up to all the finger shooters.

I have trained both but always focused more on barebow with fingers. I recently acquired my First Oneida bow (Switchblade) and noticed it is absolutely best finger shooting "apparatus" on this whole earth.

I'm a release shooter now and have been for 25yrs. . But use to shoot fingers before that and did quite well at it.

i shoot thumb release for target and hunting, but for bowfishing i shoot fingers. im still a youngin, so i have been shooting a recurve for bowfishing for 10 or so years with fingers, and will soon be getting my first oneida, which i will also shoot fingers but my also end up getting a oneida hunting rig.

I hunt with a release, but when I bowfish or stump shoot for rabbits and squirrels I finger shoot.
