First I am going to have to talk with Joe on some parts. I have an old Disc riser I'm thinking of making into a modified setup from the original.
Now I am deciding on which, spool or real?
Next I guess is which arrow rest is best?
Next would be arrow...........alum, carbon or glass?
Like I said any input would be great. Bob needs to learn a lot here as the setups I have used are very old.
Thanks for help in advance guys.
Bob

ok,
first things first you will need a reel, i would recommend a AMS retriever, they are simple and VERY reliable.
Next will be a rest, you can choose from many rests in the bowfishing industrylike the: cajun roller rest, muzzy fish hook, ams roller rest, and the quickdraw to name a few. All are very good rests its just a personel preferance.
As far as arrows go, u cant go wrong with a plain white fiberglass arrow with a cajun pirahana head witha safety slide. There are many other points but i like how they hold.
You also might want to get a set of no-gloves they are a life saver
I would recomend going thru Backwater Bowfishing, they have great service and Bryan will get you all setup and shooting fish in no time

I suggest Fred @ F&D archery. 40 some years experience, and closer to you.

My perfect setup is Muzzy reel with 200# powerpro line, fiberglass arrow with Sure Shot pentrator tips, F&D epoxy Dream Rest, or the Muzzy fish hook rest, and an Osprey of course.
