How do you identify the counterfeit models?
It brings back memories of the "Rolex" watches offered when I was overseas. That's the most memorable, but many others.
A continuous fight. Low prices, people looking to make and save $'s. It takes individuals and groups like yourself to continue the fight, rather than rolling over and accepting it.
Many companies run into this. Other companies copying designs, then calling it their own. Changes that are unproven, but claim to be better. The laws on the books need to be enforced with a vengeance. Lyle
Lyle,
Leupold has a Counterfeit Scope Warning link on their' website with information on how to detect a Counterfeit! Here is the URL link to the Warning:

I was hoping that many others than yourself and Vlodpg would have opinions about this problem which I consider major...not only to Leupold as a Company Trademark but also to everyone that relies on their' products for hunting and other sports activities. I thank both of you for your comments!
I still have a lot of reading to do to find out exactly what is and has gone on with this matter. However, in short, it appears that the PRC (People's Republic of China) enacted some so-called Laws that protect the Chinese Makers as well as Sellers of these Scopes and apparently someone or some Office in our' Federal Government said okay! Well, I've got a lot of old newspapers, cardboard and other paper products that could be ground up and formed into something akin to rice, packaged as such and sold to China. Anybody else want to donate some to help feed the Chinese???
On another note, Walmart has a sale on the 24 double-roll packs of toilet paper and I bought enough today to make a conveyor belt to reach to China and back, so we can transport and wipe off all of that crap that they are selling us!
