The EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association) in Oshkosh, Wisconsin is having it's yearly fly in. Planes from all over the world make the trip.

We live less than 15 miles, cross country, from the airport/grounds. Fly overs are impressive this week. I was just out shooting and had 4 WWII era planes fly over in formation, pretty cool.

I spent a portion of my time in the Navy as an Aviation Electrician and Flight Engineer on Lockheed Orion P3's, saw many interesting planes during that period in the '80's. Surveillance led to several interesting ships and subs also. One day, I have to scan the photos and save them on disc, as well as on the site.

And then, I'm going to work on AR. I think he may have some things that are, from a little farther away.

Here's a link to this years event, going on now. Interesting aircraft. There is a "Sea Base" on Lake Winnebago, I pass on my way home from work. An awful lot of water landing planes in one place. Lyle

Thanks, man I love air shows! I live in an area that the Navy and Air Force uses to practice Navigation and bombing runs. I get all types of planes flying over at all hours, and they are low!! I had a nice buck run when a F-18 came screaming over the mountain top a few years back.

That would really be a bummer but if those planes excite you like they do me I could get over the buck.... I used to live by an international airport/ military base and one day I got to see a stealth coming in for a landing, I bet he wasn't more than 60 ft off the ground when he flew over my head at the end of the runway. talk about a rumble that will literaly go right though ya!!!
