In all my years I've never personally witnessed a mayfly hatch like I did the other night while out on the boat fishing.

We were out on the river and there were so many mayflys that we couldn't even fish. We were either ducking for cover or taking pictures and videos. I would have never expected to be so many, especially if you turned on any lights. They just accumluated so quickly and massively that there were just piles of them.

Here are a few pics. I have a video but since my favorite hosting website MustangMods has been compromised and no longer seems to be in operating order, I'm having trouble uploading it. I've become a member of Photobucket, but there is a 100MB limit and my video is slightly over that. Hopefully I figure something out.

It was so bad during the hatch that we couldn't really fish. All in our faces and down our shirts. But afterwords, we caught some channel cats where there were a bunch of mayflys on the surface.
