If you have, or have had a pet, take some time to watch the movie "Marley and Me". I watched it last night with my wife and youngest daughter, it caught me off guard. Based on a yellow lab picked up early in a young couples life and follows through to the end. Well worth the time.

We bought the movie Lyle. We own a yellow lab right now and can really relate. My daughter and her are practically joined at the hip. A good clean family film.

Our first Golden Retriever had hip problems. She was 5 and surgery was going to be attempted. Initially, there was no way I could make my farm background mind put that kind of money into a dog. Then - the kid's said they would give up their Christmas and Birthdays if we would have the dog "fixed". Rip my heart out.

Then, when she was at the vet, awaiting surgery, we got a call. Things were worse than originally thought, or had gotten worse. A ligament snapped, too much for her to endure, etc. I don't care how tough you think you are, when you walk up to that wagging tail, of an animal that has been such a part of your life - knowing what has to take place. Damn. And this movie took me right back to that day - just glad I watched it at home, and not in the theatre....
