Any history majors here. I bought this plaque when I was in London in 1966. " He died for freedom and honor"John Barrett. It look like a homemade wood back with a copper insert(about 5"). Who is John Barrett.?

Thanks Obwon. The Roman dress and lion makes me think it is not a person in the 1500 ?

He died for the french............they did the statue of liberty for the US which is liberty.........just a thought.
