OK, i got my cable set from Joe monday (thanks, great service!) and put the bow back together last night. Today when i went into sportsmans warehouse (now discount sports or something) to get a noc put on and to check the draw weight i found that i could only get 62lbs on my 50-70 oneida af. I realize that the fibers will break down over time and the limbs are original from '96. I was just wondering what kind of lifespan is typical for the limbs.

I can get by at 62 this year, but i typically like to shoot the bow at a higher poundage.

BC,

The change most likely is in the cables. I'm sure Joe will be along with some answers.

Hi Broncosis, as for power limbs weakening, this can happen but is rare. What happened most likely is the power cables may be slightly longer, even 1/16 difference in length will lower or raise the poundage on a bow some. It does not take much to make a difference in poundage. Most of the times the bows will get more than the rated poundage. We will get this straightened out. Email sent. :D

thanks guys for the info (and the call Joe). Unfortunetly i've been under my wife's van all day trying to replace a water pump. FYI if you are ever asked to lend a hand to swap out a water pump on a 2000 caravan, DO NOT DO IT! 12 hours into it i have the new water pump on, but the engine and transmission are still suspended by jacks and the PS and A/C pump are dis connected along with a myriad of other things that just get in the way.

Hopefull i'll get it taken care of tomorrow morning and get a chance to mess with the bow. I'll try to shorten the brace height, i think i't just over 7" now, i'll get it down to 6 7/8" and see what that does. If i can get near 66+ lbs i'm cool with it.

On the bright side, the first two arrows through the paper tune set up came off like lazers and the bow is whisper quiet. I love these bows!

If you give me a call and let me know which cables you have maybe we can send you a different set so you can leave the brace where it is and get the poundage you need. :D

I am not familiar with this bow. What cables are on your bow and what cables do the chart call for ?

Joe,

the chart calls for the yellow cables, which were what came off the bow and were the ones you sent me a week or so ago. i got all of the cables and a string from you. everything else on the bow works great.

I checked the brace height today and it's exactly 6 15/16" not alot of room left for adjustment. It's shooting well and i'm not sure that an extra 4+ lbs of pull is really going to make or break my setup. Unless there is a problem with having the limbs cranked all the way down (and then adjusted for tiller of course) i think i'm fine with it.

just a memory refresher, i'm Rian in Olympia, WA. We spoke about the fellow in Soap lake with the 3-D ranch while we were on the phone.

Hi Rian, I remember speaking with you. If you are happy with your bow set up this way thats great. There is nothing wrong with having the limbs cranked way down. If you would like to discuss different cables for your please contact us. :D

I think i'll just let it ride like it is. As long as i'm not hurting anything on the bow it's shooting too good to mess with.

The new Timberdoodle rest is awesome. I set it up as Lyle described in another post and it works flawlessly. Thanks for all your help.
