One evening we took about a 2-hour drive on all the backroads on the south side of the lake. Have to drive about 20 miles to go the whole 8 miles. I drove all over the roads and ditches to get lined up to watch the 44 deer my wife spotted and counted. About 2/3 were mule deer, the rest whitetails. Also saw a good number of Canada geese, turkeys and quail.
The next day I wanted to scout a remote "Big Draw" on the north side of the lake so we took off in that direction about noon. Unbelievably our experience was similar to the evening drive. We spotted 35 deer in about the same ratio of mule deer to whitetails.
Not sure what the point of all this is. But it sure is nice to have a wife who has the same level of enjoyment of the wildlife and outdoors (minus the cold and wet) as I do.Statistics: Posted by RockAR — Tue Jun 22, 2010 11:21 am
