I come from a family of trapper's and I grew up my whole childhood and so far my adulthood trapping. Make sure your traps are tagged in accordanced with your state laws.

Bobcats are very much attracted to the same things your common house cat is. If you are using legholds to catch your bobcats, look for trails/paths along edges of fields and treelines. They like high points or hills to get a good look of the area.

A common thing to do is use an aluminum pie crust pan (the cheap flimsy ones), or acouple of big feathers and put a string on them and tie it to a low shrub/tree branch so it spins and twirls on the string. That will catch their attention and get them coming into your set. In the area of your visual attractant, make your set. A common and great set is to dig a small 2"-3" hole at a 45 degree angle into the ground. It will look like a mouse hole. Then put your bait or lure in the hole all the way to the back of it. Over the back of the hole, put a big Rock or Log to make the bobcat only have one way to work your set...from the front. In front of your "mouse hole" set your leghold about 6"-8" inches in front of the hole.

That should do the trick...and all you have to do is check your set everyday. About once a week or so add alittle more lure or bait in the hole.

Just make sure you don't do this in an area that has people walking pets or where pets run as they will get into your trap and that isn't a good thing at all to have happen.

Good Luck and wish you well!
