Hi!

My Kestrel (formerly NN's ):

76#, 29" draw, 65% let off, 420 gr arrow: 287 fps

76#, 29" draw, 65% let off, 399 gr arrow: 294 fps

76#, 29" draw, 65% let off, 360 gr arrow no vanes or feathers: 307 fps

All arrows shot through a whisker biscuit.

The 360 gr arrow is the closest to the IBO setup(70#, 30" and 350 gr arrow)! What I've heard is that lengthening the draw length by 1" is equal to an increase by at least 10# so the Kestrel would probably do 310-315 fps IBO! Any thoughts?

I will set the Kestrel up for hunting at approx. 65#, 29" draw using a 420 gr arrow, that will give me sufficient speed and a quiet bow.
I really like the shorter and lighter Kestrel, compared to the Aero Force and the Light Force Magnum.

TSM, the efficiency would also be affected also by the lett off of the bow being the highter the lett off the lower the efficiency. I have the sixty five percent modules in the kestrel. I believe the efficiency of the bows will vary alot. Will try to remember this and post whenever we do the test.

Thanks for the info that is a very good effic. rateing because as you no the more efficcient a bow is the faster they are joe is there a way for you to find out oneida bows historys starting back with the old h-250 up to the kestral thanks TSB. PS I read a artical years back and according to the artical if a bow manufacturer can hit a 98% effic. rating youll have a bow that will shoot 390 fps

Marty I looked into this after seeing this question. I was told to draw the bow with hand scale and get draw weight. Then while drawn to have someone move indicator back to zero. Then let down bow and read again. Then divide the lower number by the higher number.

Mine was 280fps with a 30" draw, 65lbs, and a 425 grain arrow.

I will check my cp oneida kestrels efficency and let you know.
My cp oneida kestrel set at 28 inches at 62 pounds was shooting a 420 grain arrow was around 263/264.
