Steve I have owned many lfm's over the years and have a couple right now and they are very good bows. I have and still own bows with both wood and esc outboards. The longer limbs are smoother and more forgiving also.
Like Chris stated switching over to esc limbs is not necesarry and like I stated up to the individual. The esc outboard is louder than the wood but also slightly faster and more durable. When given the option of a longer limb this is what I like on my bows. When choosing between wood or esc I personally prefer the esc outboards.

LFM ESC

NP. Archer,

I have a LFM with medium wood outboards on it. I have a 1" longer string and the same cable configuration as you have listed. The brace height increases by 1" and it also increases the draw length, but set the draw stops at your desired draw length. I was told that the medium draw LFM's came with the LF limbs on them, which I found true! I have owned a few over the years and sold a few, all had LF limbs. The medium outboards made a smooth drawing bow even better in my opinion, I really like it. Switching over to ESC limbs is not really necessary if your existing limbs have no issues. You will only pick up a few feet per second in speed, but you will make the bow louder. Also, when you switch over to ESC outboards, for some reason you lose about 10 lbs. of draw weight. I don't know why, but it happens. I still have my original LFM and the medium outboard one, all my other LFM's are gone now. These 2 will stay with me and won't be sold off, I still feel it was one of the best models Oneida ever produced!

Thank you for the response, The LFM is a very smooth bow as is and suits my elder needs. I'd read that the Med ESC's on a Med LFM might be an improvement resulting in a even smoother forgiving draw. If anyone has one currently or in the past, I'd love to hear your comments. Thanks,

Steve, you can change your outboards to medium esc's no problem. You will also need to get a string one inch longer. We have both the power and outboard limbs here in stock also. Is it worth doing ? That is up to you. The lfm is a nice bow the way it is but if you want more brace or a longer bow yes it is worth it. If you want esc outboards this also is an upgrade in my opinion.

LFM ESC

Hi, I'm thinking of changing MY LFM Outers to ESC. It currently has yellow power and Copper/pink yoke cables. Is this a straight out trade? Also looking for 35-55 power limbs for same. Is this exchange worth the trouble?
